S.J.Res.11 CRA: BOEM Marine Archaeological Resources Rule Disapproval

Repeals the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management's 'Protection of Marine Archaeological Resources' rule (89 Fed. Reg. 71160, September 3, 2024) under the Congressional Review Act (5 U.S.C. § 801(b)). Removes the requirement that oil and gas operators identify and report potential harms to marine cultural heritage and archaeological sites prior to drilling approval. The repealed rule implemented obligations under the National Historic Preservation Act (54 U.S.C. § 306108) and the Abandoned Shipwreck Act of 1987 (43 U.S.C. § 2101 et seq.).
